The Inspiration, The Why

Throughout my career in corporate america, I have met a lot people in various walks of life and had the privilege of mentoring and coaching some of them through their career desires and challenges. In addition to my day job, I was sought after for professional advice and career development strategies. One of the challenges that resonated with me is how some initially were not sure if they were able to get what they want (a raise, new job, promotion, success in their new role, etc.) The reasons varied, but the overall theme was that they were not sure if they were, in so many words, “built" for it.

I have a knack for helping people see beyond their own blinders in their careers, digging up the experiences like buried treasure that they may have overlooked in their career journey. Uncovering these treasures reminds them that they are built for this ... whatever their “this” is.

And with today's technology, we don't have to be in the same zip / area code.

So, I have been able to help people wherever they are!

I'm Shaunté Newby (AKA Shaunté Says) and I am a certified professional coach and career strategist who is passionate about inspiring and helping people gain fulfillment in their professional life. My diverse experience in constant change, transition and professional development have enabled me to help others ease the overwhelm that comes with the professional journey.

I also work relentlessly to increase awareness and excitement about the plethora of career possibilities in STEM, especially for the youth.

I have held leadership roles in information technology consulting, project control and management, business operations, business development and human resources. I have also served as a trusted adviser to leaders at all levels (first line supervisor to c-suite,) helping them get acclimated and thrive in their roles.

A strong proponent of continuous learning, I hold a BBA in Operations and Information Technology, and an MBA in Business Management. I also have a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification and the ELI-MP (Energy Leadership – Master Practitioner.)
